Hyattsville is a city in Prince George’s County, Maryland, and also a close urban suburb of Washington D.C, capital of the United States of America. Hyattsville itself is named for its founder, Christopher Clark Hyatt, who purchased his first parcel of land in the area in 1845. Hyatt would go on to open a store and begin a mail delivery service, with the community officially being named Hyattsville in 1859. The present historic district of the city is home to quite a few Victorian houses built in the late 1880s, and Sears bungalows, as well as Arts & Crafts houses built between the wars during the late 1910s to the early 1940s.
